Taped at the Baltimore Comic-Con.  Producer/host Ulysses E. Campbell talks with cosplayer Maureen McNary about DC Comics’ edict on the relationship of Kate Kane and Maggie Sawyer.  Creators J.H. Williams and W. Haden Blackman quit the book after executives nixed their previously approved story arc in which the characters were to get married.

“We do have a lot of old licenses but we’re always looking at the next thing. We love the old stuff and we love the old stuff and we just hope that the old school collectors are looking at our new stuff and the new collectors are looking at our old school stuff.”

The DC Anime Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to introducing and educating people in the Washington, DC area about East Asian culture, through viewing and discussion of Japanese animation (also known as anime) and Japanese comics (manga).

“I didn’t grow up reading comics at all. I read my first comic book, I was like, 27 years old. This would have been around 2000.”

“…I read comics for the story. I don’t feel like there needs to be 800 pages of back issues that I need to go back and go through.”
