Yesterday evening we enjoyed a terrific location shoot at Victory Comics in Falls Church, VA. Thanks to AIM (that’s Arlington Independent Media not to be confused with Advanced Idea Mechanics) and the mobile production van FANTASTIC FORUM was able to tape the discussion portion of two complete episodes from the sales floor of the store!
Devon Sanders and Billie Rae Bates delivered their usual exceptional hosting performances. Panelists Roberto Ortiz, Bryan Lyles and Abby Pritchard were solid and insightful, as always. And we even worked in two newcomers; Victory Comics owner, Jeff Weaver, and my new friend from Two Guys and a Comicbook, Patrick Michael Strange. Kudos to panelist David Disspain for selflessly relinquishing his seat to Roberto. We got you next time, Dave!
Anchoring the production crew in the van was veteran director, Charles Smith and AIM Technical Engineer, Devin Gallagher. Production was rounded out by Audio Tech, Ken Briley, and camera people Janar Stewart and Jacqueline Baires. Make up services were provided by the ever versatile, Cornelius Alexander. Cornelius has recently retired his old company, Platinum Cosmetics, in favor of the more appropriate, C. Alexander Beauty. Cornelius’ astounding talent ensures his continued success.
Our heartfelt thanks to Jeff Weaver and his staff at Victory for making the production crew welcome. Every courtesy and hospitality was extended and we had a great time due to their efforts! FANTASTIC FORUM looks forward to our next location taping at Victory Comics. You may visit their website at: www.victorycomics.com
This opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for the future. We’ve previously gotten out into the field for special features, events and interviews but the discussion portion of the show has, until now, been taped exclusively in studio. Thanks to the outstanding personnel and facilities of Arlington Independent Media for making more possible. Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
