Things went wonderfully at THE ANNAPOLIS COMIC-CON this weekend! On Saturday, I moderated panels on Small Press, Painting and Cosplay. The Small Press panel featured Dan Nokes, Chris Flick, C. Edward Sellner and Steve Conley. The Painting Panel was graced by artists Jo Chen, J.K. Woodward, Matt Slay and Mark Wheatley.
The Cosplay Panel was comprised of the very talented Coconut Jacobs, Han Pan, Iggy Cosplay, Rikku Cosplay and Wendell Smith Sr., who also judged the Costume Contest that immediately followed the Forum.
My compliments to Ben Penrod, and the stalwart staff of Awesome Cons, who put on a terrific show! Attendance was strong and fans, dealers and guests enjoyed a wonderful time. The convention offered a great opportunity to meet and network with some top-flight comics professionals, aspiring pros, dedicated cosplayers and fans. Friendships were made, contact information exchanged and I expect that the results will mean great things upcoming for FANTASTIC FORUM. And I was able to upgrade the convention setup from what was used for the Capicons show last fall.
This coming Tuesday I’ll be making a site visit to Victory Comics in Falls Church, VA. Arlington Independent Media Field Producer, Devin Gallagher and I will perform the needs assessment survey for the location taping at Victory using the AIM Mobile Production Van. And I anticipate that FANTASTIC FORUM will be getting a badly needed website upgrade. Friend and fellow community media producer, Aaron Overton of Heatherstone has got the hook-up! I’ll be sure to post when the new site goes live. Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
