Keep Them Doggies Movin’ Rawhide!

>We were back in the studio earlier this month. And we welcomed several new panelists and a new host. First timers Abigail Pritchard, Marc Villa and David Disspain graced the set along with host Billie Rae Bates. There were also some new set elements thanks to our friends at the Regal Majestic 20 in Silver Spring. Unhappy with the existing set pieces, I’d been seeking a means to upgrade without spending non-existent production budget money. Attending a midnight show for Captain America: The First Avenger, I got the idea of using theatrical marketing displays. There were some logistical challenges to surmount but with personal effort and perseverence the displays made in into the studio. And the production was fortunate to have make-up artist extrordinaire Cornelius Alexander of Platinum Cosmetics step in at the last minute in place of Alecia McDonald who was unavailable for the taping. So season three rolls on.

Editing facilities at Montgomery Community Media have been unavailable for the past several weeks as some facility upgrades are performed. It looks as if I’m going to have to get creative in locating someplace to work on Episode #31 in order to have it ready for a November 2011 airdate.

Beyond Comics in Gaithersburg, Maryland hosted an in store appearance by comics writer Kurt Busiek. Mr. Busiek’s work includes Astro City, JLA/Avengers and Trinity. Devon Sanders conducted a great interview that will appear in the near future. Many thanks to our friends at Beyond Comics for allowing our cameras in for this rare personal appearance.

Mr. Busiek was most gracious in clearing up an issue that I had with JLA/Avengers regarding the titanic battle between Superman and the mighty Thor. That didn’t make it into the interview but I was very happy to have some clarification on what I’d previously considered to be a mistake. Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
